Roasted Crow is a West Texas southern rock band featuring influences of the blues, classic rock, grunge, and country with a puff of funk and reggae. This unique blend of styles combined with the intensity and energy of the band’s live performance set Roasted Crow apart from other West Texas bands. Founded in 2020 by Sid Anderson (guitar, vocals), Buddy Muñoz (bass, vocals), and Ivan Borrego (guitar, vocals), the band played with several different drummers mainly as a cover band.
After parting ways with their drummer in August of 2022, Phil Hodges joined the band on drums thanks to a chance recommendation by a local club owner who liked the band’s sound and heard the potential. With a new energy and focus on original music, Roasted Crow released their debut album "Aristocrat Boogie" on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and everywhere music is streaming on October 18, 2024.

Roasted Crow nails it again with “Dave’s Song” "Dave’s Song" is a masterful blend of southern rock, blues, and classic rock, and one of the track’s standout features is the way the electric guitars intertwine with Ivan Borrego’s deep, grasped vocals. The gritty guitar riffs perfectly complement his voice.... --The Hologram Blog
Sid Anderson is a multidisciplinary musician, songwriter, singer, and composer based in Midland, TX. He has performed on stage to sold out crowds at SXSW and with multiple Texas talents including Jonathan Tyler, Cody jasper, and Kat Hasty. Sid’s passion for music began at and early age in his hometown of Sonora, TX but really struck a chord after his father called him in his room to watch Stevie Ray Vaughan Live At El Macombo. After that he was hooked! Around the age of 13 Sid began studying all of his favorites from Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page to Willie Nelson and the Texas Tornados. Sid really took the guitar around the age of 15 after receiving a 1954 reissue Fender Stratocaster from his uncle Steve that was passed down from his son Mayer. Sid is now 26, a singer, songwriter, guitar player, and member of Roasted Crow. He is looking forward to releasing music, meeting new people, and seeing what the future brings!
Ivan Borrego – Guitar / Vocals
Ivan Borrego grew up in the small town of Lamesa, Texas. The middle child of a three boy household, he often turned to music as an escape. From an early age he appreciated classical music like Bach and Beethoven. Eventually exposed to MTV he discovered bands like Guns N Roses, Aerosmith, Nirvana and Soundgarden. He was hooked on Prog Rock, Metal, and Blues. With Heroes like Slash, Kurt Cobain, Frank Zappa and Michael Romeo, he picked up the guitar. He joined small local bands around Lamesa and even spent time crafting his own brand of music in Austin Texas. He returned to Midland and joined Texas Blood where he would meet fellow future Roasted Crow members Sid Anderson and Buddy Munoz.
Buddy Munoz – Bass / Vocals
Buddy Muñoz grew up in the border town of El Paso, Texas. His mom bought him his first bass at the age of 13. While most 13 year olds were clueless as to what they wanted to be when they grew up, Buddy knew he was meant for music. More so, to play the BASS GEETAR! He was inspired by the greats like Cliff Burton, Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, and of course the almighty John Paul Jones! One could often find him walking to practice with his case less bass in one hand and a hand filled with dreams in the other. As Buddy grew up he played in various bands like Brutality, Infinite Terror, Stellar, Texas Blood and today he is a proud member of the band ROASTED CROW (which he named after an electrocuted crow incident that he witnessed.) Buddy’s passion is playing music with his friends, joking around and laughing as much as he can. If you can’t love what you do then change what you’re doing! Bass is Life. Life is Bass…
Phil Hodges – Drums
Phil grew up in Midland, Texas and at age 12 joined the junior high school concert and marching band as a percussionist. But from an early age he also heard Texas blues, country & Western, AM radio soul & funk, jazz, and FM rock that he would practice on the drum set as a teenager. As a student at the University Of North Texas Phil formed a power trio and began gigging around the Dallas area, but after graduation moved to California to be in the music business..and ended up staying for 27 years.
In CA, Phil built up his skills as a gigging and recording drummer, first in Southern California and then in the SF Bay Area with the jam band Taos Hum 1995 - 2003. Phil later went on to play with 7th Direction (Americana / roots rock), Dynamo Jones (electric jazz funk, occasionally featuring a horn section), and The Inside Men (acoustic quartet jazz). Post-pandemic, Phil decided to return to his roots in Midland, TX where he met the guys from Roasted Crow, one day after their previous drummer spontaneously combusted on stage...

"The blues are the roots and the other musics are the fruits. It's better keeping the roots alive, because it means better fruits from now on. The blues are the roots of all American music. As long as American music survives, so will the blues." ~ Willie Dixon (1915–1992)
